WIN, the organization that connects and develops the global independent music community, will visit Mexico later this month with a program of activities organized as part of the FIM GDL conference.
After an initial visit to Mexico City in March 2023, a new delegation led by CEO Noemí Planas and Chair Zena White (Partisan Records) will visit Guadalajara from February 28 to March 2 to strengthen ties with the local industry and continue the efforts towards promoting the establishment of a national trade association for the independent recorded music sector. WIN has recently updated its board structure to reflect the diversity of languages, genres and cultures that make up its membership, and looks forward to adding Mexico to the markets with representation in the independent global network.
The Feria Internacional de la Música de Guadalajara (FIM GDL) is a key conference for industry leaders from Mexico and Latin America. WIN is organizing several activities, including a panel on the rise of generative AI and its impact on music, a meeting of the LatAm Network, WIN’s regional working group for Latin America, and a networking event for international music professionals under its WINHUB initiative.
In addition to its CEO and Chair, the WIN delegation includes executives from Argentina (Tweety González, Twitin Records/ASIAr), Canada (Andrew Cash, Trisha Carter and Emy Stantcheva, CIMA), Chile (Francisca Sandoval, IMICHILE/Chilemúsica), Paraguay (Mark Meyer, Random Sounds/AMI Paraguay and Melissa Gini, Deelepe Records/AMI Paraguay), Spain (Mark Kitcatt, Everlasting Records/IMPALA; Nerea Serrano, WIN), and the USA (Lisa Hresko, A2IM).
