WIN’s CEO Noemí Planas and representatives from Latin American affiliates AMI Paraguay and IMICHILE will visit Colombia from May 8 to 11 to strengthen ties with the local industry and promote association-building, as part of the BIME Bogotá international music conference. This is WIN’s third visit to the country, following trips to Bogotá in May 2022 and Medellín (as part of the FICA initiative) in November 2023.
With a strong digital infrastructure and a rich local talent pool, Colombia‘s music market has grown significantly in recent years. This expansion reflects the country’s vast cultural heritage and diverse influences, spanning traditional rhythms such as cumbia and vallenato to contemporary genres like reggaeton and pop. The Colombian music scene is characterized by its vitality, with emerging artists exploring fusion genres and pushing creative boundaries, contributing to a thriving independent music scene.
WIN’s priorities in the Latin American region include developing new associations and building capacity for independent phonographic producers. To this end, activities at BIME Bogotá include a roundtable with independent music businesses to promote the creation of a Colombian independent music trade association, and a workshop about public-private cooperation on export and mobility initiatives.

Thursday 9 May – 10:30 – EAN University (invitation only)
