WIN Welcomes New Members from Pakistan and Ukraine

Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), the international network that brings together the global independent music community, has announced the addition of two new national trade associations to its membership, further strengthening the organization’s global reach. The new members are the Pakistani United Music Producer Association (PUMPA), and SPILNA, the Ukrainian Association of Music Companies. With these two additions, WIN members now span 39 trade associations in 45 territories across 5 continents.

Independent music trade associations play a vital role in building a sustainable, ethical, and diverse local music ecosystem by fostering education, cooperation, and advocacy, while also creating opportunities for independent music businesses to grow and connect across borders. The addition of PUMPA and SPILNA reflects WIN and IMPALA’s long-standing network development work supporting local independent businesses in establishing their own representative trade bodies (globally and in Europe, respectively).

WIN actively promotes the development of trade associations in new markets and regions through dedicated guidance and resources, such as the Roadmap to Starting a Trade Association. We are proud to welcome Pakistan and Ukraine to our global network, enriching its diversity and the representation of independent voices from new territories. By joining WIN, PUMPA and SPILNA can continue to advocate effectively for their members locally while also engaging internationally.
Noemí Planas, WIN CEO

PUMPA is Pakistan’s national trade association representing independent music producers, record labels, music production houses, and other rightsholders. PUMPA’s priorities include advocating fair practices, protecting intellectual property, as well as fostering structured dialogue between industry stakeholders, digital platforms, and public institutions, while supporting sustainable growth, transparency, and international integration.

Joining WIN marks an important milestone for Pakistan’s independent music sector. This membership gives our community a stronger international voice and creates new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and constructive engagement with global partners. Through WIN, we look forward to strengthening rights protection, transparency, and sustainable growth for independent music in Pakistan.
Sher Muhammad, PUMPA CEO

SPILNA, the recently formed Ukrainian trade association, joins WIN through its membership of WIN’s European sister organization IMPALA. SPILNA brings together independent Ukrainian music companies and rightsholders with the aim of strengthening copyright protection, raising professional standards, and supporting the long-term development of the country’s music sector.

We are excited to be part of a community that unites professionals who share our dedication to music, creativity, and the development of the industry. This partnership opens new opportunities for us to provide key services in Ukraine, collaborate in Europe and internationally, exchange knowledge and best practices, and participate in initiatives that will strengthen and develop our music market.
Iryna Gorova, SPILNA Representative

SPILNA will take part in IMPALA’s capacity-building program for young associations. Co-funded by the European Union through the cultural network program, this initiative supports new national associations across Europe engaging with the wider IMPALA network by providing services and contributing to broader efforts to foster cultural exchange, promote European values, and encourage best practices.

It’s great that SPILNA is able to participate in this new scheme, co-funded by the EU. They will provide key services in their country for IMPALA which means Ukraine can be joined up and active with the rest of Europe and the world. Ukraine’s independent music community has shown remarkable resilience and creativity, and their services under this scheme will take their place alongside fellow associations.
Dario Draštata, Chair of IMPALA
