WIN Returns to Mexico for WINHUB and BRIDGE Activities

WIN is returning to Mexico City from November 3-6 to host WINHUB and BRIDGE activities at MUSICMEX, Mexico City’s new meeting point for the music industry, now in its second edition.

MUSICMEX connects key industry figures from Mexico and around the world and features showcases by promising emerging artists. WIN’s participation aims to connect the local and international independent music communities and help build stronger collective representation for the Mexican independent sector.

WIN CEO Noemí Planas and Community & Projects Manager Nerea Serrano will be joined by WIN Chair Mark Kitcatt (Everlasting Records, Spain) and board members Mark Meyer (Random Sounds/AMI-PY, Paraguay), Francisca Sandoval (IMICHILE, Chile) and Ian Harrison (A2IM, USA). Other members of the WIN network attending the conference include Germán Lesme (Random Sounds, Paraguay), Katja Vauhkonen (IndieCo, Finland) and Marlon McNeill (IndieSuisse, Switzerland). A2IM will also have a delegation of US companies participating in the conference, led by its membership coordinator Nicolle Gutiérrez and COO Lisa Hresko.

The highlight of this year’s visit is the WINHUB x MUSICMEX international breakfast, powered by AudioSalad, taking place on Thursday, November 5 at Cinco Pies. This exclusive networking event will bring together selected Mexican professionals together with WIN members, Supporters, and international delegations, creating a space to build relationships and explore new business opportunities. It is the second WINHUB event in Mexico, following WIN’s visit to Guadalajara in 2024.

On Friday, November 6, WIN will present a BRIDGE panel titled “Sellos y distribución digital independientes: impulsando la diversidad musical latinoamericana.” (“Independent labels and digital distribution: driving Latin American musical diversity”). The discussion will examine how independent labels and distributors strengthen local music ecosystems and support diversity, and how they are tackling challenges such as streaming fraud, AI-generated content, and market concentration. The panel will be moderated by Mark Meyer (Random Sounds/AMI-PY/WIN), and will feature Bela Zecker (Merlin), Israel Torres (AudioSalad), Mariella Millan (Symphonic), Verónica Rojas (Casete) and Víctor Lana (SonoSuite).

The visit builds on WIN’s previous work in Mexico, including trips in 2024 and 2023. This time, the team and delegates will meet with local independent labels and other stakeholders and hold dedicated strategy conversations on the Mexican sector’s needs and opportunities.

WIN activities at MUSICMEX are part of the ongoing BRIDGE events across Latin America, Asia-Pacific and WANA. Combining research, knowledge sharing, and networking, BRIDGE strengthens independent music ecosystems and fosters greater international collaboration. BRIDGE activities in Mexico are supported by Merlin, the digital music licensing partner for independents globally.
