WIN Publishes a Roundup of the Independent Network’s Sustainability Initiatives

WIN presents its Sustainability Spotlight, a new resource highlighting commitments and flagships from independent music trade association that address climate change and can serve as inspiration for others around the world.

As an industry with far-reaching cultural impact, the music sector is committed to climate action and promoting sustainability. WIN’s Sustainability Spotlight underscores how our members, trade associations representing thousands of independent music businesses around the world, are proactively taking action to reduce their environmental footprint and to develop projects that make a positive impact.

The Sustainability Spotlight is the first ever compilation of sustainability projects from the global independent community. It includes sections on carbon footprint, recycling, pledges and manifestos, as well as general strategies adopted by our member associations. This dynamic resource will be updated in the future as new developments arise.

Music is a transformative force to drive change. Our members around the world are leading by example and promoting a variety of projects to address the climate crisis. We hope this roundup of initiatives inspires other music organizations and businesses to do their part.
Noemí Planas, WIN CEO

It is vital for our work on sustainability to be joined up globally and WIN’s resource is invaluable. If we are to achieve change at scale, we need to operate to the same standards and ambitions internationally.
Karla Rogožar, IMPALA’s Sustainability Lead
