LatAm Network

The LatAm Network is the regional working group promoted by WIN to identify challenges, promote dialogue and collaboration, and create opportunities for independent music businesses and their trade associations in Latin America.

The LatAm Network consists of representatives from the existing trade associations in the region: ASIAr (Argentina), ABMI (Brazil), IMICHILE (Chile) and AMI PY (Paraguay), plus UFI (Spain); and individual companies from territories without a trade association (Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and more). WIN assists with general coordination.

The LatAm Network’s main objectives are:

  • Build bridges of understanding and cooperation between the territories.
  • Develop new associations in countries without grouped representation.
  • Foster the professionalization and capacity building of independent phonographic producers.
  • Promote the value of independent music businesses and their trade associations.

It achieves this through in-depth discussions, networking, awareness-raising and practical assistance. The group meets at least twice a year, once in person.

The collaboration between the associations that make up the LatAm Network has been key to the success of initiatives such as the Latin American Observatory of Independent Music, launched in 2021 and the Latin American Independents Forum (FILA), with projects in the Southern Cone (FICS, 2022) and the Andean Community (FICA, 2023).
