WIN has unveiled its program of activities taking place during the Fluvial conference in Valdivia, Chile from December 10-13. Following the successful implementation of the BRIDGE project in Asia in October, this trip continues its mission to strengthen regional connections, support independent music ecosystems, and foster sustainable market development.
The WIN delegation includes leading independent music professionals from Latin America and Spain, including Alejandro Varela (S-Music, Argentina), Cecilia Crespo (ASIAr, Argentina), Felippe Llerena (Nikita Music / ABMI, Brazil), Fran Sandoval (IMICHILE, Chile), Mark Kitcatt (Everlasting Records, Spain), Mark Meyer (Random Sounds / AMI PY, Paraguay), Nerea Serrano (WIN), and Oliver Knust (IMICHILE, Chile). They will engage in sessions and meetings to address the digital gap across markets in Latin America as part of the BRIDGE project.
During the visit, WIN will convene a meeting of its LatAm Network, a forum for independent trade associations and companies across Latin America. This working group plays a vital role in identifying the challenges facing the sector, promoting dialogue among markets, and building professional capacity through regular discussions and gatherings.
We face very specific challenges in the Latin American region in terms of market access, knowledge and pricing, and BRIDGE is a crucial project that will help strengthen the position of independents’ in the digital ecosystem. As a space where we can share knowledge and align strategies, the LatAm Network is a key vehicle for this initiative.
Mark Meyer, Random Sounds CEO, AMI-PY Vice-President, and LatAm Network Chair
A highlight of the BRIDGE program of activities will be the panel discussion on digital distribution and musical diversity in Latin America on Friday, December 12. WIN delegates and local industry leaders will reflect on the role of digital distributors in amplifying the diverse Latin American independent music. The conversation will explore new distribution models and the challenges they face, including discovery, monetization, fraud, and the growing presence of AI-generated content, all within a context of increasing market consolidation in the region. The session will also present the first research findings from the BRIDGE project.
That morning, WIN delegates will also participate in an AI-focused discussion organized by Chile’s collecting society SCD, enriching the debate with their international perspectives.
Fluvial has always aimed to connect local talent with the international community, and hosting WIN and its delegates to Valdivia creates invaluable opportunities for exchange, visibility, and shared learning.
Fran Sandoval, IMICHILE President
To close out the WIN program in Valdivia, an exclusive WINHUB x Fluvial mixer event powered by Random Sounds and IMICHILE will be held on Saturday, December 13, aboard the Marqués de Mancera boat. This gathering will bring together members of the LatAm Network, international delegates, WIN supporters, and selected guests. Curated by WIN and IMICHILE, the guest list emphasizes high-level professionals maximizing meaningful business connections.
WINHUB, WIN’s flagship international networking initiative, was first launched at Fluvial in 2022 during the WIN board’s visit to Chile, and it is an honor to return to this incredible conference. We are proud to further strengthen connections within the Latin American independent community together with our WIN Supporter Random Sounds and our local member IMICHILE.
Nerea Serrano, WIN Community & Projects Manager
