WINCON to Celebrate a Decade of Leadership in the Global Independent Music Sector in 2025

  • WINCON 2025 to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 15-16 in partnership with ANMIP as part of SoAlive Music Conference.
  • Decade-long gathering of the global independent music community returns to tackle key sector challenges across continents.

WIN is proud to announce the 10th edition of its annual flagship conference, WINCON. This milestone event will be hosted in collaboration with ANMIP (the Bulgarian Independent Music Association) as part of the SoAlive Music Conference taking place from October 14-17 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Since its official launch in 2015, WINCON has grown into the most important international gathering of independent music trade associations, bringing together business leaders from over 40 countries. Previous editions have been held in Cannes, New York, Lisbon, and Belgrade, each offering a unique platform for industry professionals to exchange knowledge, spark partnerships, and build community.

Marking a decade of impact, this year’s conference will celebrate the evolution and achievements of the WIN network. From advancing equitable policies to promoting regional alliances and cooperation among independents across continents, WINCON has been instrumental in defining the independent global agenda. The 2025 edition comes at a time of renewed urgency for the sector with challenges such as AI, market consolidation, and the emergence of a two-tier streaming market. WINCON will offer an invaluable space to reflect on these topics and collaborate to shape the future of independent music together.

I attended the first WINCON in Cannes in 2015 (at the time representing Spanish member UFi). It’s fantastic to see what it has become in these 10 years, a vital platform for the independent sector to connect, learn and advocate. We are excited to bring WINCON to Sofia this year to continue our mission to provide a platform to discuss a fairer and more sustainable future for independent music.
