WIN Makes Landmark Visit to India with APAC Delegation

WIN is set to make its first official visit to India, with a delegation of Asia-Pacific representatives attending the inaugural India International Music Week (IIMW) conference in Goa from February 4-6. The event will bring together a diverse community of music professionals and industry leaders from over 30 countries in one of the world’s fastest-growing music markets.

Led by its CEO Noemí Planas, the WIN contingent will feature representatives from the APAC Alliance, WIN’s working group for the region. The delegation includes Sridhar Swaminathan (SIMCA, India), Marty Ro (LIAK, South Korea), and Dylan Pellett (IMNZ, New Zealand), who are also members of the WIN board.

IIMW will host panels, keynotes, and networking opportunities during the day, while evenings will come alive with performances from over 50 artists across Goa’s live venues. Planas will speak on the panel “Music Discovery: Cutting Through the Noise” on February 5, which will focus on innovative strategies to ensure that independent voices remain prominent in a crowded marketplace.

Generating $365 million in revenue annually, India’s recorded music industry presents abundant opportunities for both domestic and international stakeholders. WIN’s US member A2IM is an official partner of IIMW. Members of the South India Music Companies Association (SIMCA), WIN’s association in the country, will also be in attendance.

WIN’s participation at IIMW underscores our commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of the independent music sector across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. By actively engaging with Indian professionals and businesses, we aim to establish new meaningful connections while strengthening ties with existing members like SIMCA.
Noemí Planas, WIN CEO

I’m excited to participate in IIMW along with my WIN colleagues in our country and to explore the possibilities of collaboration with the independent music community.
Sridhar Swaminathan, SIMCA Secretary
