WIN international delegation travels to SoAlive Music Conference in Bulgaria

After holding its annual conference WINCON in Belgrade (Serbia) last week, WIN continues its activities in the Balkans heading to Sofia (Bulgaria) to take part in the SoAlive Music Conference, a space for dialogue on the state of the regional music scene. From October 2 to 4, an international delegation of independent music businesses and representatives of 12 trade associations from around the world will participate in a series of activities including an international networking event and high-level meetings on performance rights.

As part of its efforts to unite the global independent music community, and after successful events in Guadalajara (Mexico), New York (USA) and Valdivia (Chile), WINHUB returns with its first in-person gathering in Europe. WINHUB x SoAlive powered by ANMIP will take place on October 3 at City Stage of the National Palace of Culture (NDK). This exclusive event will bring together representatives of the WIN network, international delegates from South Korea, Chile, Spain, Germany, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Serbia and Turkey, as well as professionals from Bulgaria and the Balkan region. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their collaboration with colleagues abroad, establishing lasting connections and creating business opportunities.

In line with its mission to help the independent sector navigate the international performance rights management landscape, WIN will also host a meeting of its Performance Rights Group, comprised of leading companies in the field such as Beggars Group, Blue Raincoat Music, Domino/Double Six Rights, [PIAS]/Integral, Playground Music, Secretly Group, State51 and WARP Records. Members from this group, as well as representatives from WIN and IMPALA, will also meet with PROPHON, the local collective management organization for neighboring music rights in Bulgaria.

Other activities with participation from the WIN delegation include panel discussions on the role of independent record labels, the state of live music in South-Eastern Europe, and funding in the EU. The full program is available here.
